Hop Premier Screening

Date : Wednesday, March 30 2011
Venue: Cathay, e@curve
Time: 9.30 PM

Courtesy to Nuffnang and Jessy for d passes, i get to watch Hop Premier Screening a day before it official release in malaysia. Brought Cayenne as guest for the movie :)

Hop tells the comic tale of Fred (James Marsden), an out-of-work slacker who accidentally injures the Easter Bunny (voiced by Russell Brand) and must take him in as he recovers. As Fred struggles with the world's worst houseguest, both will learn what it takes to finally grow up.

Once i saw this movie poster and find out the producer was by Despicable Me, and directed by Tim Hill (Alvin & Chipmunk) i am excited to watch it! Instead of 3D Animation, it was a real life action just like Alvin & Chipmunk, realistic rendering babe ;) Animation was nice too. Storyline pretty simple and straight forward, entertaining of coz with the comedy packed in. Somehow i hope they can explain further how EB can produce d err...shit easter candy?

Like Despicable Me, they had cute figures in this movie which are those chicken easter. Arent they cute!??? awwwww

Catch this movie on cinema starting today :) u gotta love it!

And Happy Easter Day from A Journey Called Jloi ;)

Mobifest Gathering : Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Preview

Last saturday iw as invited by Mobifest to attended the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Preview. The preview session was held at The Bee, Jaya One. Seriously, it is my first time attending mobile community meeting. Everyone there is either iphone,BB or Android owner. So, as a DroidBerry owner it is pretty ez for me to blend in with them and sharing our mobile knowledge to each other ;)

The presentation of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc was by Eric, from Sony Ericsson Marketing team. During the presentation, Eric was pressing hard on the HDMI output, Bravia Engine and the Exmor R sensor that packed into this tiny phone ;) This would are the strong points to owning this awesome phone!

* Eric from SE Marketing team *

* Demo-ing the HDMI output *

* U can even play game with it! *
* Not to mention taking pics with live view from big TV LOL *

Well, each of us get the chance to play around with the phone. Honestly if u ask me, the camera was awesome thanks to Exmor R sensor. However i unable to check on the noise quantity since it hardly notice from the phone. In addition, i am not reli impressed with the Bravia Engine that claim to be brighter, more contrast and vivid. I put it side by side with my Samsung Galaxy SL and found out that it almost same with SLCD.

* Comparison between my Tabbie, Arc and Galaxy SL *

* More to join in! Dell Streak 5 and HTC Incredible S *

Must admit the design kinda sleek and nice especially the ARC design at the back ;) feel lighter than my Samsung Galaxy SL though and FYI the whole phone was plastic built.

* Nothing much difference if compare with SE Xperia X10 *

* Slim curvy Arc design *

* Thickness war! SE Arc easily pawned my both devices *

* Sim & micro SD slot was on the back *

Now here is a quiz, can u spot which are my phone in d pic below? :P

As a phone that running 2nd generation of 1GHz Snapdragon Qualcomm MSM8255, packed with 8mp Exmor R sensor camera and Bravia Engine display, does that attract u to get it? For me yes but depending the price.

Sony Ericsson team had not decided yet the RRP for this phone however, they promised will offer a very satisfying price to everyone. For me, satisfying price would b around RM1.7~1.6k ;) How bout u? Lets wait and see what d price offer by Sony Ericsson team.

Olympus XZ-1 Test Shot

Owning my Olympus XZ-1 (Baby CrossZee) for almost 2 weeks, u can see i am one of the happy owner! Seriously, how many of u tend to avoid buying Olympus product and tend to go to Canon, Nikon or Panasonic? Yes for me i am of them that almost get Lumix LX5 or Canon S95 until i found this, Olympus XZ-1! Click here if u wanna know why i love Olympus XZ-1

As promise, here are the test shot i did with my Baby CrossZee. Did it kinda rush coz i dun reli have time but i guarantee u, Olympus XZ-1 can satisfy ur need if u fulfill the criteria ;) No worry, i'll use layman term to present the quality of this camera. No technical stuff :)

Yes, the camera can perform very well under day condition. Color was nice and saturation level perfect! Same goes to Macro, it has 1mm focusing distance yo! ;D

If u wanna know how lowlight performance for this cam, it definitely can perform very good without flash thanks to the f1.8 lens ;)..but of coz, that doesn't apply to club/bar that might dun have light at all, those need some special treatment AKA flash for my case ;P

You may see more from my post how this cam perform under lowlight :

of Chilis : Leisure and Brotzeit : Bernard Birthday

Merry Me! St Patrick's Day at Changkat Bukit Bintang

Nuffnang Sharing Session at Frames Cafe

Does that convince u enuf that this cam is great as well for lowlight? i dare said it wun lose to any of Canon G12 and Lumix LX5 ;)

Another things i love about this camera as i mentioned b4 is the ART FILTER that same as Olympus Pen. It came with 6 pre-install Art Filter (Pop Art, Soft Focus, Grainy Film, Pin Hole, Diorama, Dramatic Tone). Here are the test of 6 Art Filter comparison ;) is good for artistic shot though

* Pop Art *

* Soft Focus *

* Grainy Film *

* Diorama *

* Pin Hole *

* Dramatic Tone *

I am not reli satisfy with the video performance though it is 720p HD. The reason is because it used AVI Motion JPEG format. Plus, the video tend to have very high noise around and AF sucks. I am ok with it since i dun use compact to shoot much video ;P in addition, same like pen, XZ-1 able to record video together with the Art Filter, pretty cool rite ;P

Conclusion, I am happy with my XZ-1 no matter it is under lowlight or daylight condition. It can produce me perfect image and color eventhough it might not as sharp and as detail as LX5 or Canon S95/G12 during high ISO. I brought my XZ-1 everyday where ever i go now and leave my DSLR at home LOL

Basically, this is a perfect cam for u if u

Love the Art Filter as i do!
Love the flexibility using M,S,A,P or even iAuto Mode
Love camera who can perform low light well (f1.8 FTW!)
Love portability and small size though not pocketable LOL

And this might not a camera for u if u

Shoot sport and event alot because the AF still slow compare to DSLR. Unless u had nice timing and lucky shot LOL
Always wan a difference focal length lens (since XZ-1 only have 28-112mm focal length)
Always use it for video recording and mind the quality of it

So, think about it whether is this ur camera if u plan to get one for urself ;) as for u i am a happy owner with it and i'll continue used it for any event that doesnt required serious shooting (sport, dancing, product etc).

Oh i forgot to mention, all the image about was shoot using iAuto mode and straight from camera, coz i been lz tune it using M ;P so, judge it by urself! iAuto can present u nice photo rite? ;P

Somebody ask me how is the bokeh of this cam in f1.8. Well, i would said dun expect much on the bokeh compare with DSLR. It just had 1/1.63 sensor size/ U can c some bokeh on telephoto zoom or macro but as i said, dun expect it as nice as DSLR bokeh coz of lens and sensor size.

Samsung I9003 Galaxy SL First Look & Main Specification

Wee Thanks to Nuffnang i get another Android phone hands on to review! Samsung Galaxy SL! Being Android user for this 2 months made me reli understand what Android capable of and other phone not.

Anyway, dun b confuse by this model with the best seller Samsung I9000 Galaxy S. Both have similar design but nop! Both are difference phone! Galaxy SL is successor of Galaxy S. I just dun understand why Samsung still wrote Galaxy S instead Galaxy SL on the box, is kinda misleading though.

Here are the basic spec of this phone

Quad-band GSM and tri-band 3G support
7.2 Mbps HSDPA and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA support
4" 16M-color Super Clear LCD capacitive touchscreen of WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) resolution
Slim 10.9mm profile
1GHz Cortex A8 CPU, PowerVR SGX530 GPU, TI OMAP 3630 chipset; 478MB of RAM available to the user
5 MP autofocus camera with face, smile and blink detection
720p HD video recording at 30fps
Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g and n support
GPS with A-GPS connectivity; Digital compass
16GB internal storage, microSD slot
Accelerometer and proximity sensor
Standard 3.5 mm audio jack
Secondary video-call camera
microUSB port (charging) and stereo Bluetooth v3.0
Android OS v2.2 (Froyo) with TouchWiz UI customization
FM radio with RDS
Adobe Flash 10.1 support for the web browser
Document editor
File manager comes preinstalled
Samsung Apps brings a few nice apps for free
Battery has increased capacity (1650 mAh) over the original Galaxy S (1500 mAh)

Main disadvantages

Super Clear LCD is somewhat inferior to SuperAMOLED
Camera lacks flash
No dedicated camera key
The all-plastic body is a real fingerprint magnet
Feeble loudspeaker
Increased thickness (10.6mm), height (123.7mm) and weight (131 g) compared to the original Galaxy S (9.9mm, 122.4mm and 119 g)
Less capable GPU compared to the original Galaxy S

Well i would said Galaxy SL is not an upgrade from Galaxy S. is more likely a strip down version or alternate version of Galaxy S. Nevertheless, the Super Clear LCD technology is great. Samsung really never failed consumer with their LCD technology.

* Super Clear LCD easily pawned my BB n Tabbie display *

Honestly, Samsung Galaxy SL really thin and slim eventhough the size was 4 inch. Isn't it easily pawned alot phone out there? However the built might b not solid since it was built by plastic body. Thats what made it pretty light too.

Anyway, will go in depth with Android on my next post ;) so stay tune!

* Having 2 Samsung Android phone on hands now..what my feeling? haha *
